"We had a crew member with a 2-3" laceration in his scalp. I started the digiMed kit while the captain contacted our medical care provider by phone. The care provider came up on the video before the captain was able to contact them on the satellite phone. We were able to use the remote camera to show the doctor the wound and discuss treatment. The text feature was useful because I had the doctor's instruction in writing which allowed me to refer back to them if I was unclear. The captain, the patient and I were all very impressed with how well the system worked. Just the ability to see and talk with the doctor, knowing he was watching me perform the procedures reduced both the patient's and my stress level and gave me greater confidence in the treatment I was providing the patient. The patient remarked that it was a great tool to have and I definitely agree. Thanks again for your help."
